Who Let Her Bake
About the Owner

Hi, I’m Jessikah.

I am an empowered Japanese-American woman born and raised in Southern California. Now I am living a beautiful life here in Oakland and could not be more grateful. It’s funny, we originally moved here for my husband’s dream job, and now I find myself pursuing mine!

Jessikah, owner and baker at Who Let Her Bake

How it started

Straight out of high school, I got to work. I started as a florist, talked my way into my first office job, and kept climbing until I was running the show as Director of Operations for a media company. I spent years collecting tools, knowledge, and information, learning so many lessons in between. At some point it hit me, I’d built this huge knowledge base for myself and was using it all on businesses that weren’t mine, while being overworked and underpaid. CLASSIC! So here we are. Who Let Her Bake is my first business and I could not be more proud.

Everything you see is made by hand: mixed, shaped, scored, baked, and packaged, all by me. I use the best real ingredients I can find, and my products are always evolving. Honestly, my favorite part isn’t even the bread and pastries. Food has a way of pulling completely different people, from all walks of life, into the same room. Everyone eats! Nothing makes me happier than watching someone try something I made and hearing that they loved it. That’s the whole reason I’m doing this!

This is just the beginning. To my family, friends, and everyone who has shown their support of Who Let Her Bake, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! The love has been ridiculous in the absolute best way. I could not be more grateful.

Cheers to all the amazing things lying ahead. I hope you enjoy!

Now, let’s eat!

What I believe

Real ingredients
If I wouldn’t feed it to the people I love, it doesn’t go in what I make. The realest ingredients I can get my hands on, always evolving, no shortcuts.
Made by hand
Everything is mixed, shaped, scored, baked, and packaged by me. Yes, every single piece.
Food = Connections
We’ve never been more connected yet more alone. I want to make it easier to come back together: to talk, to laugh, to make memories. Bread is a pretty solid excuse for all three.
